As part of his exhibition Little Portals, Cris will be activating his sound installation of mechatronic letter boxes which will interact in real time with the musicians live in the gallery for this unique sound event.
Composer and performer Cory Champion works with the recording and amplification of cymbals, drums and drum machines to create fluid soundscapes, exploiting blurred textures between acoustic and synthesised sources. These percussion instruments are also amplified in the gallery space as sculptural works able to be played, continually modulating Champion’s immersive, harmonic soundscapes.
Splendor presents over 300 events annually, and is considered an alternative central-nervous-system for Dutch music. This presentation will explore Splendor’s innovative approaches to sustainability, financial models, collective thinking, and the challenge of running a musician-run venue without “programmers”.
